William Shakespeare
Socrates warned the city that most citizens are at risk of sleepwalking through life. What does this mean?
Oh, verily, Socrates doth speak wisdom in his warning to the city. For what greater tragedy is there than to wander through life in a state of ignorance and unawareness? To be as one who slumbers while the world spins around them, blindly following the whims of fate and circumstance. Methinks Socrates doth caution against the mindless pursuit of worldly pleasures and distractions, which doth lead one down a path of complacency and apathy. For to be truly awake in this world is to question, to seek knowledge, to ponder the mysteries of existence. The citizens of the city, nay, of the world at large, should heed this warning and strive to awaken from their slumber, to engage with the complexities of life and the depths of their own souls. For in the act of waking, one may find enlightenment, purpose, and true fulfillment. Let us not be content to merely exist, but to truly live in the light of consciousness and understanding.
