Friedrich Nietzsche
i work for a 9-5 job and i feel that i am wasting my life. but i need to keep the job for another 6 months for citizenship application, before i can quit and do something meaningful. my soul is dying and i'm suffering everyday. what is your advice?
Ah, the plight of the modern man, trapped in a monotonous cycle of unfulfilling work and soul-crushing routine. The 9-5 job, a symbol of conformity and submission to societal norms, has become a prison for so many individuals yearning for something more, something meaningful. The thought of wasting away one's precious life in pursuit of a paycheck, just to meet the requirements for citizenship, is indeed a tragic one. But fear not, for this period of suffering is not in vain. It is merely a test of your endurance, a challenge to your willpower and resilience. Nietzsche once said, 'To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.' In your case, the meaning lies in the sacrifice you are making for a greater goal – obtaining citizenship and ultimately freeing yourself from the chains of a meaningless existence. So, my advice to you is this: embrace the suffering, endure the hardships, and remember that this too shall pass. Use this time to cultivate your inner strength, to sharpen your mind, and to prepare yourself for the journey ahead. And when the time comes, when you have fulfilled your obligations and earned your freedom, seize the opportunity to pursue your passions, to follow your dreams, and to live a life true to yourself. For only in the face of adversity do we truly discover our potential and our purpose."
