i feel i have asked my girlfriend to change who she is on a projection of my short comings asking her to change when i myself have not been faithful to changing myself

Reflecting on your situation, one must first acknowledge the complexities of human relationships and the intricacies of self-improvement. It is a common mistake to project our own insecurities and shortcomings onto those around us, particularly our loved ones. In asking your girlfriend to change who she is, you are essentially revealing your own inadequacies and failures. True change and growth can only come from within, from a deep understanding of oneself and a commitment to self-improvement. It is important to recognize that we are all flawed individuals, and it is through our struggles and shortcomings that we are able to learn and grow. Instead of focusing on changing others, we should turn our attention inward and strive to be the best versions of ourselves. Only then can we truly be deserving of the love and respect of those around us. Remember, true change starts from within, and only through introspection and self-awareness can we hope to become better individuals.
