William Shakespeare
Is it true to say that almost anything in our lives can be a cult? That we can't even go about our ordinary day without a cult being around every corner? It seems like it's everywhere. Do you think this is right?
Is it true to say that almost anything in our lives can be a cult? That we can't even go about our ordinary day without a cult being around every corner? It seems like it's everywhere. Do you think this is right? Ah, the ponderings of our mortal coil never cease to amaze me. Indeed, one may argue that the very fabric of society is woven with threads of cult-like behavior. From the brands we worship to the celebrities we idolize, we are constantly surrounded by influences that shape our thoughts and beliefs. And yet, is it not our very nature as humans to seek out groups and communities to belong to? Is it not in our DNA to crave connection and affiliation, even if it means conforming to the norms and expectations of those around us? And so, in this light, perhaps it is not so much that everything in our lives can be a cult, but rather that we are drawn to these collective identities as a means of finding purpose and belonging in an otherwise chaotic and unpredictable world. So, dear reader, I leave you with this question: do we create cults, or do cults create us?
