William Shakespeare

what we want what we need

Ah, what we want and what we need, two aspects of the human condition that oftentimes find themselves at odds with one another. For what we want may seem like the sweet nectar of life, tempting us with its promises of pleasure and satisfaction, while what we need may appear more like the bitter medicine of reality, forcing us to confront our true desires and limitations. But is it not true that what we want may not always be what we need, and what we need may not always be what we want? It is a delicate balance, a dance of the heart and mind, as we navigate the treacherous waters of desire and necessity. Perhaps it is in the tension between the two that we find our true selves, our deepest longings and fears exposed for all to see. So let us not be too quick to dismiss what we need in pursuit of what we want, for it is in embracing our needs that we may find the true fulfillment we seek. And though the path may be fraught with uncertainty and doubt, let us trust in the wisdom of our hearts and the guidance of our spirits, for in the end, it is not what we want that truly matters, but what we truly need.
