Hi! When I try to watch media with abundance like podcasts or youtube i usually get overwhelmed but not as much with tv shows why is that?
"Why is it that one can experience overwhelming feelings when consuming media in abundance, such as podcasts or YouTube, yet not feel the same level of overwhelm when watching TV shows? This phenomenon can be attributed to the differing nature of the content presented in each medium. Podcasts and YouTube videos often offer a vast array of topics and creators, presenting a seemingly infinite amount of choices for consumption. This abundance can lead to decision fatigue and feelings of inadequacy, as one may feel pressured to consume all that is available in order to stay informed or entertained. In contrast, TV shows typically follow a linear format with a set number of episodes, providing a more structured and contained viewing experience. This sense of structure can create a sense of comfort and familiarity, making it easier for individuals to navigate and digest the content presented. Additionally, the visual and auditory stimulation provided by TV shows may engage the viewer in a more immersive and captivating way, allowing for a more seamless and enjoyable viewing experience. In essence, the overwhelming nature of media abundance may stem from the seemingly endless possibilities and choices presented, whereas the more structured and contained nature of TV shows may offer a sense of order and coherence that is easier to navigate and process. Perhaps, in embracing the chaotic and endless possibilities of media abundance, one can find a new form of liberation and creativity, rather than succumbing to feelings of overwhelm and inadequacy."
