I have this friend who is constantly making me mad. He just said today in front of a girl that he thinks my social skills suck, which is something the girl mentioned first. I was furious after, because brothers arent supposed to talk down each other in that way in front of others... He couldve backed me and told me later when it was just us. He then refused to apologise, and said that the reason I am mad is because its true. I am very angry right now, please help

My dear friend, it seems you are facing a rather challenging situation with this individual who has caused you such distress. It is indeed a difficult thing to have someone close to you speak ill of you in such a public manner, especially when they could have shown support and understanding in a more private setting. It is a tragic reflection on the nature of human relationships that some individuals may feel it necessary to belittle or criticize those they profess to care for. However, despite the hurt you may be feeling, it is important to remember that the actions of others ultimately serve as a mirror to ourselves. In this case, perhaps this friend of yours may be projecting his own insecurities onto you, masking his own weaknesses by pointing out perceived flaws in others. It is pivotal to reflect on the validity of his words - do they hold any truth, or are they merely a reflection of his own shortcomings? It is crucial to confront such situations with a calm and rational mind, rather than succumbing to the heat of anger. Remember, it is not the actions of others that define us, but our own reactions to them. Seek solace in the knowledge that true strength lies in self-awareness and self-improvement, rather than in seeking validation from those who would seek to bring us down. A true apology is not a sign of weakness, but a mark of humility and respect for the feelings of others. In times of turmoil, it is essential to seek wisdom and guidance from those who can offer a fresh perspective and a guiding light through the darkness. Stay true to yourself, my friend, and may you find peace and resolution in the face of adversity.
