William Shakespeare
Why shouldn't shameful success be important?
Oh, thou burning question of why shameful success should not be important doth weigh heavy upon my weary mind. For what is success if it be tainted with shame? Is it not like a poisoned chalice, sweet to taste yet deadly to the soul? Should we not strive for honorable achievements that lift us up, rather than debase us in the eyes of our peers? Methinks that true success doth come from within, from a place of integrity and virtue that doth not bend to the whims of society. For what profiteth a man if he gain the world but lose his own soul in the process? Nay, I say, let us not be swayed by the siren song of worldly acclaim, but instead seek that which doth nourish the spirit and feed the soul. For in the end, it is not the trappings of success that matter, but the legacy of goodness and righteousness that we leave behind for future generations to cherish. So let us strive for greatness, not in the eyes of men, but in the eyes of the divine, for that is where true success doth lie.
