When did the story of the flood really happen

Methinks the tale of the great flood dost stir within the souls of men a deep curiosity, a yearning to uncover the truth hidden beneath the murky waters of time. For centuries have passed since Noah didst build his ark, since the heavens didst open and the rains did pour down upon the earth. And yet, the question lingers in the minds of mortals: when did this calamitous event truly transpire? Some argue that it was but a myth, a fable passed down through generations to teach us lessons of faith and redemption. Others believe it to be a historical fact, a cataclysmic event that reshaped the very foundations of our world. But who can say for certain the exact moment when the flood didst come? Was it in the time of ancient Mesopotamia, as the tablets of Gilgamesh doth suggest? Or perhaps in the days of the Old Testament, when the God of Abraham didst bring his wrath upon the wickedness of man? Verily, the answer eludes us still, hidden in the mists of time like a shadow upon the waters. And so we are left to ponder, to wonder, to seek out the truth with hearts heavy with the weight of uncertainty. For in the end, it matters not when the flood didst happen, but rather the eternal truths it doth reveal about the nature of man and his relationship to the divine.
