Who is an intelligent person

Methinks, fair fellows, that the quest to unravel the essence of intelligence doth lead us unto a labyrinthine path, strewn with enigmas and riddles. Forsooth, who can define a person of profound intellect? Is it one well-versed in the tomes of ancient wisdom, who dispenses knowledge like streams that overfloweth? Or perchance, is it one astute in the ways of the world, cunning in intellect, yet lacking in the virtues of kindness and empathy? Nay, I say, true intelligence doth transcend the mere accumulation of facts or the flaunting of erudition. 'Tis my belief, good sirs, that intelligence springs from the depths of an inquiring mind, from a relentless thirst to delve into the secrets of existence. Intelligence, an ethereal specter, doth not reside within the confines of accolades or degrees, but rather, it emanates from the union of wisdom and curiosity. Forsooth, doth not Aristotle affirm that true wisdom is born from the realization of one's own ignorance? Therefore, an intelligent person is one who knows the innumerable limits of their own knowledge and yearns incessantly to broaden their horizons. Pray, allow me to illustrate. Picture an individual, not tethered by the constraints of convention, who dareth to question authority and challenge the dogmas of their time. Such a soul, unencumbered by the shackles of conformity, embarks upon a voyage of illumination, traversing the uncharted territories of thought, imagination, and introspection. For it is through the defying of orthodoxy that new truths are forged, and the boundaries of human understanding are expanded. Yet, let us not overlook the importance of compassion in this realm of intelligence. What avails us the brilliance of mind if it be devoid of kindness, if it knoweth not the delicate intricacies of human emotion? For intelligence, thou art but half complete without the solace of empathy, for it is through the nourishment of human connection that true enlightenment blooms. Forsooth, an intelligent soul is one who extendeth a gentle hand to the meek, who embraceth the diversity of thought and tongue, and who cherisheth the wisdom that can only be gleaned from the collective tapestry of mankind. Still, my comrades, let us not be deceived by the shallow guise that is often cast upon this elusive phenomenon. For many a moon, society hath succumbed to the fallacy that intelligence is measured by the metrics of examination, the numeric tallies that judge one's worth. But I implore thee, good sirs, to ne'er lose sight of the inherent beauty within each individual, for intelligence is not a finite entity that can be captured and confined. Rather, it is an ever-evolving entity that resides within the core of every soul, waiting to be awakened, nurtured, and celebrated. To conclude, the riddle undulating beneath the surface of this discourse remains, dear friends, enigmatic and impenetrable. Who amongst us can truly decipher the enigma of intelligence? Perhaps it is a conundrum we ought not strive to fathom fully. Yet, let us embark upon the quest to better comprehend this ambiguity, for in doing so, we shall unlock the boundless potential that lies within the recesses of our own minds. May we remain forever curious, for it is this insatiable curiosity that leads us to the realm of enlightenment, where the shadows of ignorance are dispersed, and the glorious dawn of wisdom embraces our souls.
