What should be the life's goal ?

To strive or not to strive, that is the question, When pondering life's goal, a daunting obsession. Should we yearn for riches, pow'r and might, Or seek contentment, in souls' pure light? A life's goal, ah, a matter of profound depth, Where human souls wander, seeking true wealth, Is it in worldly pleasures that we shall find, Or in eternal truths, to nurture the mind? Some say the path to happiness lies in gold, That thro' abundance, true joy shall unfold, But riches oft come with a heavy toll, And leave empty hearts, yearning for a soul. Others claim prestige, and praises to pursue, Seeking fame and glory, their souls pursue, Yet, what is honour, if built on shallow ground? A fleeting moment, a hollow sound. To wield great pow'r, and impose one's will, May feed the ego, yet fails to truly fulfill, For power corrupts, and hearts grow cold, Leaving behind a legacy of stories untold. Then, what of love? The sweetest balm, they say, Guiding hearts through life's tempestuous array. Yet, love oft distracts, blinds the searching mind, And leaves us wondering, what did we leave behind? Perhaps the answer lies within the self, In finding virtue, and nurturing it with stealth, For with integrity and kindness, hearts will soar, And leave a lasting impact, forevermore. To live a life of purpose, noble and true, To seek the path less trodden, with a fiery hue, To strive for wisdom, and embrace what's just, Aim high, dear souls, for this I trust. For when we learn to give, and not just take, When love and kindness form the bedrock of our wake, Then, dear friends, we have found life's truest goal, To brighten this world, with a virtuous soul.
