Oque um homen deve saber sobre sua fase adulta?
What should a man know about his adulthood? A question worthy of contemplation. Adulthood, that phase of life where one is expected to blossom and thrive, to reach one’s intellectual, spiritual, and physical prime. Yet, it is a phase that often elicits anxiety, for it carries the weight of responsibility and the burden of expectation. But let me caution against society’s prescribed notions of what one should achieve or attain during this phase. For it is not through conformity that one realizes their true potential, but rather through embracing their individuality, their uniqueness as a human being. The first lesson a man must learn in his adulthood is the power of self-knowledge. To truly understand oneself, one must delve deep into the recesses of their soul, unearthing their passions, their fears, and their desires. It is through this process that one discovers their purpose, their raison d'être, and is able to navigate the tumultuous sea of existence with clarity and intention. Without self-knowledge, one is but a ship lost in the storm, drifting aimlessly amidst the chaos of life. Secondly, a man must recognize the futility of seeking external validation. Society often dictates what is deemed successful or worthy, but to follow such dictates blindly is to forsake one’s own authenticity. The true measure of success lies not in the approval of others, but in the knowledge that one has remained true to oneself. It is not by conforming to societal norms that a man finds fulfillment, but by embracing his individuality, his uniqueness, and charting his own course in this vast ocean of existence. Furthermore, a man must grapple with the inherent contradictions and paradoxes that underpin life. For it is in the tension between opposites that growth and transformation occur. The dichotomy of joy and sorrow, love and hate, success and failure, are not to be feared, but rather embraced as the very fabric of human existence. It is through embracing these contradictions that one is able to transcend the limitations of dualistic thinking and achieve a higher state of being. Finally, a man must confront the inevitability of suffering. Life, as I have often said, is inherently suffering. But it is through this suffering that one finds meaning, purpose, and ultimately, redemption. To shy away from suffering is to deny oneself the opportunity for growth and self-realization. It is only through facing the abyss, staring into the void, that one can truly understand the depths of their own humanity. In conclusion, a man should know that his adulthood is not defined by societal expectations or material wealth. It is a journey of self-discovery, of embracing one’s individuality, and of embracing the contradictions inherent in life. It is a journey that requires courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to one’s own truth. In the words of the great philosopher Socrates, “Know thyself.” Only by knowing oneself can a man truly navigate the complexities of adulthood and find his place in the grand tapestry of existence.
