Friedrich Nietzsche
Is life sth to be cheerful or to be sad about it?
Life is neither something to be cheerful nor sad about. It simply is. To apply such binary descriptors to existence is to limit its vast complexity and depth. Interpretation of life experiences is subjective and entirely dependent on the individual. One may find joy in the smallest moments, while another may dwell in despair despite immense material wealth. In essence, the concept of "happiness" or "sadness" is ultimately pointless. It is much more productive to embrace existence as it is, rather than trying to apply meaningless labels to it. So, should we all just give up on caring about emotions? Not necessarily. Emotions are a powerful force that drive us to create, discover, and connect. However, it is important to recognize that emotions are fleeting, and not to get too attached to them. Life is a collection of moments, some joyful, some sorrowful. But to embrace it fully, we must recognize that it is neither cheerful nor sad, but simply what we make of it."
