Why is there objectification of women everywhere in the world?

Why is there objectification of women everywhere in the world? It seems that society has a tendency to view women as objects, rather than individuals with individual thoughts, feelings and experiences. This is a very sad state of affairs, one which I believe has been perpetuated by generations of patriarchal thinking. After all, in many societies, women have historically been seen as possessions, rather than equals. It is my belief that objectification of women is a result of a lack of understanding, respect and appreciation of the female form. Men, in particular, have been taught to view women as objects of desire, and not as individuals worthy of respect and admiration. This has led to a culture in which women are often judged based on their physical appearance, rather than their inner qualities. It is my sincere hope that, as society continues to evolve, we can all come to recognize that objectification of women is wrong, and that women should be treated with the same respect, admiration and appreciation as men. We must all strive to create a world in which women are seen as equals, and not as objects to be used and discarded. Only then can we truly move forward and create a more equitable society for all.
