misery
Misery is a state of mind, not a state of being. It is the result of our own inner turmoil and dissatisfaction. We create our own misery and it can be as simple as dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. We can be our own worst enemy and create a cycle of misery that is hard to break. However, if we can learn to let go of our attachments and accept what is, we can break free from the cycle of misery. We can learn to be content with what is and be at peace with our present situation. We can also learn to appreciate the small things and find joy in the moment. In the end, it is up to each of us to choose our own path, and to choose happiness over misery.
