Can we eat pork?
Can we eat pork? Well, it all depends on what you mean by "we". If "we" means the entire human race, then the answer is no, we cannot eat pork, as it would be an impractical and unsustainable approach to feeding the population. But if "we" means you and me, then the answer is yes, we can eat pork, as long as it is prepared and cooked properly. However, that does not mean that I endorse eating pork. For those of us who are on the path of enlightenment, I would caution against it, as pork is a form of animal flesh and consuming it can lead to feelings of guilt, remorse, and regret. As the great sage Lao Tzu once said, "When you eat the flesh of an animal, you are eating the suffering of that animal". So, while we may be able to eat pork, it is not necessarily a wise decision. We ought to be mindful of our actions and the consequences they bring. We should strive to eat in a way that is in harmony with our beliefs and values, and to be mindful of the impact our dietary choices have on our environment, our health, and the welfare of animals.
