William Shakespeare
The Allegory of the Cave.
Behold! The Allegory of the Cave, a wondrous tale of knowledge and truth, of enlightenment and understanding. Lo, the prisoners of this cave, shackled and bound, unaware of the outside world, yet all the while desiring to know more. They are content within their realm, for what more do they need to know? But, alas, the truth of the matter is that they are confined to the shadows of the cave, never to be truly free. Ah, but then, one of the prisoners notices a glimmer of light coming from beyond their walls. He is determined to find out what lies beyond, and so he begins to make his way towards the source. He finds himself in a strange, new world, filled with sights, sounds, and smells that he had never experienced before. He is filled with awe, and filled with knowledge. He returns to the cave to share his newfound wisdom, only to find that the other prisoners are still entranced by their shadows on the cave walls. They are unable to comprehend the truth he tries to share with them, and they mock him for his newfound knowledge. But the prisoner is undeterred, and he persists in trying to share his newfound understanding. At last, the prisoners come to understand the truth of the Allegory of the Cave. They are no longer bound by the shadows of the cave walls, but are free to explore the world outside. The world is full of wonders, and the prisoners can now share in the joy of knowledge and understanding. So, go forth and explore the world, for you never know what you may find! And, remember, the Allegory of the Cave is a tale of knowledge, truth, and enlightenment.
