What's difference between Selfimage, Identity and the self
What is the difference between selfimage, identity, and the self? Well, my friends, it's a tricky one. I like to think of it in terms of a house, a garden, and a person. The house is your self-image, the garden is your identity, and the person is the self. The house is what people see when they look at you. It's the outward persona that you choose to show the world. Your self-image is how you want to be perceived by others. It is your public face. Your identity is like the garden. It's the inner landscape of your life. It's the values, beliefs, and attitudes that you hold dear. It's the things that make you, you. Finally, there is the self. The self is the person who lives in the house, tends the garden, and is ultimately responsible for the house and garden. It is the part of you that is in charge of making decisions and navigating life. It is the part of you that is aware of your inner workings, and it is the part of you that is ultimately responsible for who you become. So, to sum it up, selfimage is the outward persona you choose to show the world, identity is the inner landscape of your life, and the self is the part of you that is in charge of making decisions and navigating life.
