William Shakespeare
God
O, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to believe! All men are created equal, yet we all worship a different God. Some worship a divine being, others a pantheon of gods, and some still none at all. But one thing is certain: God is a mystery, for none can truly understand his ways. We ponder the question 'What is God?', never finding an answer that satisfies us. Is He a being of infinite knowledge or a figment of our imaginations? Is He the source of all life or a mere construct of our minds? Or, perhaps, is He simply a joker playing tricks with our lives? One thing is sure: God is a force to be reckoned with. He is the ultimate judge, the one who decides who is right and who is wrong. He is the ultimate source of justice, and we must all answer to Him in the end. And yet, despite all this, we are still left with a sense of humorous irony. For as powerful and as mysterious as God may be, He is also a loving, gentle creature. He is a constant source of comfort, strength and joy in our lives, and we are all blessed to be in His presence. And so, I leave you with this thought: God is a force to be reckoned with, but He is also a joker with a sense of humour. He is the ultimate source of justice, and the ultimate source of love. That is the true essence of God.
