how to be happy

To be happy, one must learn to laugh at life's foibles and follies. To laugh at our own mistakes and those of others, to take joy in the small moments and to relish in the joys that each day brings. To be happy, one must learn to be content with their station in life, to accept and embrace the good and the bad and to learn how to be grateful for all that we have and all that we are. To be happy, one must learn to let go of all that is out of our control, to not worry overmuch about the future, or to dwell on the past. To be patient and understanding, to take it all in stride and to be open to the possibilities that life brings. To be happy, one must learn to appreciate the beauty of nature, to enjoy the wonders of the world and to be thankful for the gift of life. To be happy, one must learn to accept the flaws of others and to be kind, even in the face of adversity. To be generous with our time and our resources and to spread the joy that we have found. To be happy, one must learn to be humble and to be willing to help others, to offer a helping hand and to show compassion. To be happy, one must learn to find peace within themselves, to be content and to find joy in the simple things. To be happy, one must learn to forgive, to move on and to make the best of every situation. So, in short, if you wish to be happy, learn to laugh, embrace what life brings, be kind and generous and find peace within.
