What's love

What is love? 'Tis a question oft asked, yet rarely answered. Is it the sweet embrace of a lover? The passionate kisses of a spouse? Or is it something more? Methinks it must be, for love is oft a source of great joy, but also of deep sorrow. Perhaps it is the binding of two hearts, united in commitment and mutual understanding. Or, mayhaps, it is the feelings of compassion, respect, and kindness that one has for another. Either way, 'tis a power that can transform the human experience. Love can bring about a wondrous feeling of contentment and fulfillment, yet it can also be a source of great pain and despair. For when love is lost, 'tis as if part of one's very soul has been taken away. And yet, despite all its complexities, love is something that all of us seek. For it is the cornerstone upon which we build relationships, friendships, and families. So, if you ask me, what is love? I say it is something which cannot be defined, but only experienced.
